Wind Power
Besides the huge windmills for industrial size investments in the range from 0,4 MW onwards there are different solutions available for single houses or small villages up to 10 KW.
In areas with steady wind, like the northern parts of the country, especially along high tension lines it is a good investment. Wind can blow day and night and thus being used as a supplement to Solar PV or stand alone solution.

However studies on the local wind occurence is to be done very carefully.

To get an impression of the development in the sector in Germany as an example pls see the german figures below
Up to now in Germany there are 19460 windmills installed with a capacity of 22,247 MW.
Windenergy is no 1 of the renewables with a 7,2% share of the total electricity production of the country.

The share of wind energy is increasing steadily.
2007 it totalled already to 39.5 billions KWH. The potential is far more than 40 billions KWH.
Poor wind in the past years hindered a higher harvest.
